MORE FILE INFORMATION

Informator provides much more file information and file meta data than the
Finder Get Info window

Informator is the fastest and most simple way to get informtion about your files.
You will be surprised, which huge amount of information could be viewed directly in the Finder without opening files in other applications like image processors, media management applications or special editors.




Properies
The most important file information can be found on the top of the Informator window:
The file name, its icon, the label and properties like locked, stationary and the permissions.

The second area shows you the opening application, some less important properties like "Has Custom Icon" and the permissions in a more detailed form.



The following area is called "Information area" and separated into 7 parts

This part shows stadard file properties for all files.
And: Every property is editable. You can also use customizable pop up menus with variables like <current date and time>.

IPTC meta data

View IPTC meta data entries written by e&Mac226;.g. Adobe Photoshop or GraphicConverter.

Quicktime user data/Quicktime movie annotations
If the selected file is a movie, this part will display the movie annotations of the file. You can change the displayed language through a pop up menu.

Exif information from digital cameras
With Informator, EXIF data can be viewed directy in the Finder without the need to cataloging an image in a media asset management application like IPhoto, Cumulus, IView Media Pro or Extensis Portfollio.
Just select an image and view your shot data.



Special data rom Adobe Postscript Files (.ps) and Adobe Encapsulated Postscript (.eps) files
In the area "Special" you can find creation information about an image:

The area "Includes" provides information about included or needed resources of postscript files:

Volume info
Info about the volume, where the current selected file or folder is located on. Much more than only the sizes: File count, folder count, ref number etc.



Catalog info
This part is very interesting for developers:
View all information from the toolbox call "GetCatalogInfo" from FileServices at a glance:
nodeflags, UTC dates, permissions, modes, FinderInfo (IsShared, IsStationary, NameLocked, HasBundle, etc), FinderInfoX, sizes and text encoding.
